If you're asking why this is national news and a shooting in the poorest areas of chicago, at 1 in the morning between two drug dealers isn't news, it's because the second isn't interesting to people who typically consume news media.
We have an expectation of going out to the mall safely, and pretty much feel we can avoid being involved in the wee hour drug deals in alleys or flop hotel parking lots.
. This is headline news? RIP to the victim. How many killings in the inner cities happened today just in 30 minutes? Its a drip drip effect to the American populous

2nd amendment is going bye bye.
How all out totally ridiculous to wave the 2nd Amendment goodbye. We still have all our guns after the mass shooter shot over 50 dead and many hundreds injured in Las Vegas back in 2018. I wonder how many potential mass shooters want to break that record? Yet, if they do, I think the 2nd Amendment will live on!
CNN reporting one isolated mall shooting in nebraska today. its beginning
