In short, police have shot many white and Latino people, too.
I understand that they do shoot white and Latino people too, but I believe whites and Latinos justifiably have a much higher level confidence that they will NOT be killed simply for resisting arrest.
Systemic racism means it is officially built into the official system. (It doesn't mean it is widespread, on an individual level.)
For example, affirmative action, in which blacks are admitted under lower standards than whites, is systemic racism. Or the recent government decision to give black farmers more subsidies simply based on the color of their skin.
We used to have systemic racism against blacks. A government mandating separate water fountains for "whites" and "coloreds" is an example. Another would be disallowing blacks from purchasing property in certain neighborhoods. An obvious third would be segregated schools.
And how many YEARS ago were all of these?
It is time some get into NOW and stop living in the past!

Here's the thing. There are people who are still alive, and vibrant, in their late 50's and early 60's, who drank out of colored water fountains and weren't allowed to dine in restaurants. And much, much worse things. Who, if they were seen with white people would have to be in a maid's uniform and then had to use a different toilet.
Until people who experienced that are dead and gone, how can we expect them to forget?
And the flip side of the coin, those who ENFORCED and agree with those rules are still here with us too.
Easy to say oh that was in the past forget about it, but that only works for the perpetrators of injustice, not the victims.
Your tone of voice, Quick Enough, is the exact tone used by bullies at a high school reunion, who want the victims to completely forgive and forget, truce, enough already. Let bygones be bygones.

IMO there are a number of variables at play.
1) Race. Meaning the impact from race despite identical situation, same officer, same department, same type of car etc.
2) Geography. If more black people live in a rough part of town where shootings occur, police making stops in that part of town may be more on edge or aggressive regardless of race.
So, even if you had robot police that were absolutely not racist and handled every situation without bias....you could still see a difference in results between black and white people due to where they more predominantly live (which would have obvious roots in the past).

I have no idea what you're talking about.
I'm not "very young". And I've worked at a job that paid even less than minimum wage, back in the day, because it was a mom and pop burger joint that hired me at 15.
I've seen what I've seen. In Louisiana, and east Texas, and Mississippi.
And it was anything but "cute".
