Rashida Tlaib has recommended abolishing police. Last summer police defunding became a movement. How about pick a day, any day, and announce that there will be no policing and no charges filed for any non-white-collar alleged crimes. Let's see what happens! Maybe Nirvana, Woodstock Nation or the Age of Aquarius.
The goal seems to be remove and replace with a federal police force.
Obama/Biden wanted this back in their days, but tried to do it through federal funding (read loan shark) and forcing local police that took the money to adopt their rules.

I think that is the goal, a centralized political police force. Democrats would eventually turn it into something like the Gestapo.
General Daniel R. Hokanson, chief of the National Guard Bureau and a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told CBS News national security correspondent David Martin the Guard has been meeting with its troops as they arrive in D.C.
"In coordination with the Secret Service and the FBI, they're screening all the personnel that are coming in," Hokanson said.
Is he at "worried at all about the reliability" of the National Guard troops?
"Absolutely not," Hokanson replied.

"If there's any indication that any of our soldiers or airmen are expressing things that are extremist views, it's either handed over to law enforcement or dealt with the chain of command immediately," he said.

My vote would be to experiment with the "day without policing" and see what happens. After all if the police were federalized it would likely be something like the TSA; all show and totally ineffective. Policing theater or something like it.

You're correct of course. Ending local control of the police is just what the Leftists want. That way the naughty Red states with all their law-and-order can experience what it's like to experience a little CRT Marxist anarchy. Teach them a lesson, yessir.

The assumption is that police "stop" crime. They don't. They report crime and maybe investigate it. But pausing the police for a day would have no impact on anything.
