Rioting, looting, arson, etc. are all wrong and I condemn them strongly. However, in my view, those crimes are not as serious as attacking Congress in session. The latter is a direct attack on our democracy and our sovereignty. The full-size hanging gallows on the Capitol steps was not just a prop and some of the embedded extremists had hostage zip ties. This follows the same pattern as the rightwing extremists who plotted to kidnap Gov. Whitmer.
The anti-police brutality riots are garden-variety civil unrest. The far right extremist movement takes it to a higher level by advocating sedition and insurrection. See the difference?
