College. Why is there something demeaning about being a blue collar worker. If so, could you please explain!

I live in a very liberal area of Texas. Most are nice people and are respectful of other's views. There are some intolerant ones, just like conservatives.

OK, but we know that is the exception not the rule. We know income levels by education.

Anyone who looks down on the trades never had to hire a plumber, or an electrician, etc…

Everybody wants to be a video game designer and "Kids these days..." don't care to get their hands dirty.

I find the older generation of blue collar workers read and write better than the college grads today. And their math is good too, with good sense for numbers without having to google everything.

Now that we've dumbed things down and stretched basic education to k-16, don't be surprised to find many college grads trying to get blue collar jobs. Then they'll find those jobs are not that easy to learn.

You should feel flattered that they are being asked that. It sounds like the people asking are genuinely surprised that your kids didn't go to college. Must mean they are smart and carry themselves with dignity and come across well.

Many people who didn't go to college...well, you really don't need to ask.

Are these adults? Why would anyone ask that? Do they have jobs?
