Many diseases are transmitted through surface contact, so it was a reasonable measure at the time. (Examples: the common cold, chicken pox, measles, influenza.) Besides, maybe all that extra cleaning is what helped cut down on the influenza cases this winter?

How much money has been wasted by businesses and people? Will all these chemicals have long term health effects? Will we end up with more resistant bacteria?

Something about “ novel” as in, never before, virus continues to elude some people.

Too bad SARS CoV-2 did not come with a FAQ, eh.

Funny how at the beginning of all this we were told that they knew for a fact that it could live for days on one type of surface or another and that we had to constantly clean and disinfect everything......

Makes you wonder what else wasn't quite true either.......

Probably so. Along with the masking and overall precautions. I seem to remember news organizations last Fall saying to get ready for possibly the worst flu season ever.

I was thinking the opposite because of people masking. So far the news reports general Flu infections have remained lower than usual in all major regions of the United States.

I am wondering what is 'most' likely to happen out of these? I warn you tough choices ahead -

1) Someone getting lysol poisoning from just disinfecting surfaces
2) Finding all black models when you click to check lipstick on a model on a major retailer's website

3) 14 blacks all buying Gucci in a store
