Not to worry, the New York Times says don't be ashamed of the "Quartentine 15".

The reality is that "Quarentine 15" is just the beginning. Many women in their 20s and 30s will have many decades of chronic conditions thanks to the lockdowns and the lack of excercise and excess calorie consumption that has gone on for a year now among that nearly half that has gained on average 3 to 15 pounds.

The year of COVID-19 restrictions and people isolating at home for a year will likely mean many young women will have the health of women in their 70s when they are 40.

In the area I am in it's as if the majority of 50 and 60 year olds are better shape then a majority of those in their 20s and 30s.

Many of the young men will likely not their habits and will pass-away in their 40s and 50s partly because of this 15 pound weight gain that is hard to stop once it starts in reality.

I am in an area with very low obesity rates by American standards but I have seen a huge, huge increase in ther numbers of those obese, mainly those in their 20s and 30s.

So, people are too lazy to exercise and eat right?

And this is news?

If there was any time when it should have been easy to lose weight, COVID was it. You could sleep in, there's nothing to do so it's easier to get around to exercising, you were cooking for yourself (as evident by empty grocery shelves). Why weight loss didn't happen, I don't know.

Crowded mainly with already physically atheletic fit individuals.

A vast majority of the 71 million Americans estimated to have gained weight on top of a 42% obesity rate will continue to gain weight, might go to the gym once or twice and then cancel their membership.

A few may sign up for a membership when they open but many go once because their self-esteem issue arise from being around much more atheletic people then they are.

3 to 15 pounds is a huge range.

I lost weight. It's amazing the difference not eating out a couple times a week can make.

Being at home, it's easier to be lazy. I had to push myself twice as hard to go out and run. I also think the burring the days attributes to lack of motivation.
at home I have a treadmill, bike, elliptical, plus my weight bench.....to me it was easier to stay healthy at home,

I believe it, but I took advantage of being able to focus on eating healthy and I've lost over 20 lbs.
