This covers some of the new tactics that are being used by rioters such as bullying people at restaurants and the restaurant owners. You are right that there are already laws against most things that take place in a riot, but this sets the precedence and send a "warning shot" to would-be rioters. If you plan to do that in Florida, you will be dealt with swiftly.

That has not changed.
You understand there's a difference between the past progressives pre WW2 and modern ones, correct?

Good for this sherriff and good for RDS. Protect your state and its citizens.

What a weird cross-over of Florida tourist board and voter intimidation.

He's a character alright.

That's kinda the start of fascism I mean, when law enforcement can be coerced into fulfilling political as well as public safety roles.
New residents should be banned from voting in local elections for 5 years.

Yes he is the Sheriff. He is also a politician. He is overwhelmingly supported by his constituents. He will smoke anyone that runs against him.

No, you need to put the shoe on the other foot mentally to see why this is bad.

How would you feel as a conservative, if say you lived in a district with a D sheriff, and he decided that one of his duties as the top LEO in the district was to shame you for voting R.

Then don't live in his jurisdiction! Plenty of liberal sheriffs.

Up it to 50 years, and I'll agree.
This would exclude me too, but I'm fine with that.

As a mental exercise, how would you feel?

Or, show me where a liberal sheriff has decided to shame his constituents that vote R. I'll object equally as strongly.

First of all I would not move to D-district with D-sheriff, since it'll be high crime, low education, weed and cocaine drug addicts district. Thank you, but keep that one for yourself.
