Good, as he should be. Anyone with a thinking brain without a racist agenda knew he murdered him. May he get the very best of karma coming to him in the slammer. Congratulations chauvin, enjoy!
There was no other possible verdict. The jurors lives were on the line and they knew it. Also Mad Maxine provided the defense a clear path for appeal which gave the jury some leeway to just call him guilty and let the higher courts sort it out.
Yeah, I think you pretty much nailed it. If you think about it for a minute, you'd have to ask yourself this question: "Who would EVER agree to serve on this jury unless they already were 99.999% certain in their mind that they were going to vote GUILTY?"
No juror would go into that mess thinking "Yeah, I'm going to be completely fair and vote "Not Guilty" if that's what the evidence shows." That juror, and their family, would never have a normal life again. Hell, they might not have any life at all if they voted Not Guilty... and the jurors knew this.
There's just no way that this was a fair trial. Don't misunderstand what I'm saying. Chauvin may very well have been guilty of one or more of the charges, but there's no way in the world that he could get a fair trial by jurors in the town where this happened and where the jurors live.
In fact, the only way I know of that anyone could get a fair trial under this type situation would be if the jurors were 100% anonymous, were not known to other jurors, and viewed the entire trial and did their voting online or on Zoom or something like that. Otherwise, there is too much intimidation for the jurors to feel free to truly vote what they think. It's a sad situation, but that's what it has come to in this country when we can't have a trial without the jurors fearing for their lives if they don't vote a certain way. Sad.
Edited to add: There's no question in my mind that Chauvin's actions were excessive, but I'm not convinced that he got a fair trial.
Democrat insurrection will destroy billions in property.
I’m waiting for the looting as everyone celebrates.
Anyway, an appeal will be forthcoming.
