We didn't have lockdowns at all. And mask usage was mixed at best. We took half measures and got predictable results.

Yeah, I don't accept your attempts to manipulate language. There were lockdowns in blue states and there continue to be lockdowns in blue states.

The data does not lie and the left's approach (your approach) is an objectively proven failure.

Sure Jan. We had some restaurants, movie theaters, etc closed. People were still going to stores, having house parties, you name it. Hardly a "lockdown". If we had a true lockdown this whole thing would have been over with in 2 weeks rather than stretch out for a year.

From the CDC:

The speed of transmission is an important point of difference between the two viruses. Influenza has a shorter median incubation period (the time from infection to appearance of symptoms) and a shorter serial interval (the time between successive cases) than COVID-19 virus. The serial interval for COVID-19 virus is estimated to be 5-6 days, while for influenza virus, the serial interval is 3 days. This means that influenza can spread faster than COVID-19.

Stop spreading fake news!
I would say you’re being purposely obtuse but sadly you believe you’re having a copacetic scientific discussion with me.

LOL, you don't understand how contagious COVID-19 is, do you?

There is no way any lockdown would have ever prevented this virus from going through the population. It was going to happen and there is nothing anyone could have done to stop it.

Yeah, that's why I criticized what happened as half measures with predictable results. You're agreeing with me but being argumentative about it.

Explain why measures worked incredibly well in Vietnam, Taiwan, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea, etc despite the fact that they naturally should have been hotbeds.

So you're agreeing that what's happened is pointless and arguing that it should continue indefinitely. You should coach the debate team.

Better tell your news network it's false - once again they are caught publishing something without researching it.

I'm saying we didn't do enough. Which of course is part of the compromise of having a free society rife with misinformation. But that does not mean that such measures do not work. Countries that took more aggressive measures proved that out.
