The states with the best (lowest) unemployment rates are:
Nebraska
South Dakota
Utah
Vermont
New Hampshire
Idaho
Iowa
Kansas
Alabama
Montana
Wisconsin
Indiana
Those with the worst rates are:
Illinois
Rhode Island
Louisiana
Pennsylvania
New Jersey
District of Columbia

California
Connecticut

The differences are huge, with the most successful state having an unemployment rates of 2.9%, while the biggest losers are around 3 times as much. A huge difference, and an eye opener as to just how badly some of the states in this nation are governed. Really makes you wonder if there isn't some sort of theme or underlying difference between the successful states and the losers...anyone have any thoughts?
First group -- lots of jobs because nobody wants to live there -- so for the few that can tolerate the lifestyle -- lots of jobs.
Second group --- so many people want to live there -- but limited jobs -- but people willing to stay and fight and wait for their job because such great states to live in.
All the peoples from the blue states moving to red states for jobs, lower cost of living, freedom but bringing their politics with them. They will paint the entire country purple and make this a hell hole of a place to live.

People moving south that were traditionally red -- and somehow are moving towards swing states -- lol.
High unemployment rate means more people looking for fewer jobs. Why? Because more people want to live in those areas.
Lower unemployment rate --- meh -- not so many people flooding there for all those jobs.

If that were true...people would be moving to the second group. As I posted above...that's not the case. Many of the loser states are losers on both lists, same with the winners. Granted, that list is a little more mixed. Heck, I'd like to live in CA, if it weren't for Californians and their utterly moronic politics. Great weather, scenery, tremendous amounts of coastline. But, frankly, it's not worth it.

Actually no. People move to where they can afford. And the second group is more expensive.....because its a nicer place to live.

Looks almost like rural vs urban. Fewer jobs availabe = lower unemployment rate.
Or brain drain perhaps? You have those with lower intelligence staying behind in states like Nebraska, South Dakota, & Iowa settling for minimum wage versus those taking a risk to make it big in California, NY, New Jersey etc.
