While I don't expect events to be closed permanently if they can help it, we are going to be masking and social distancing forever.
WTF? Why?!?!
Please explain what's so dangerous about this bug. Go ahead, explain it. Look around - it's not as bad as you're being led to believe.
Seriously, what are you, personally, afraid of? Are you in your 80s or 90s? Burdened with an already failing respiratory system? What is it about this thing that scares you THAT much? If you're under 70, you have little to be concerned about. That's what the science says, not what the media says. Follow the science, right? Stop letting them scare you so badly.
8,916: number of reported TB cases in the United States in 2019 (a rate of 2.7 per 100,000 persons)
Use your brain man, there are currently about 65,000 new covid cases per day in USA. You're wondering why stores weren't closed for TB in 2019 when USA had less than 9,000 cases the entire year?
No they won't, you're basing decisions on irrational fear. CDC has already updated their mask guidance once based on vaccinations, and will likely update it again soon removing mask recommendations for most outdoor activities. States are doing the same, either loosening or planning to loosen covid guidelines as vaccination totals increase and cases start to level off and drop.
You saying "you're done" when entire country is almost rounding the corner sounds like Veruca Salt's famously impatient I want an oompa loompa nooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwww.
These posts you're making won't age well, bookmarked for future giggling over your fear-mongering predictions.
What human with a brain wears masks "outdoors?"
HAHA. Come on. You base your life on a politicized clown show like the CDC? Holy cow. What happened to Americans using their brain and exercising their individual liberty?
Please explain what's so dangerous about this bug.
It has killed 570k people.

Okay, what are the odds of dying from a case of covid for an obese person age 65? I'm curious where you draw the line for little to be concerned about.

Cases mean jack ****. A case is the sniffles. Deaths are at all time lows.
There will ALWAYS be "cases" of corona, for the rest of your life. You're going to have to come to grips with that sometime.
The survival pre-vaccine was 99+%. Now it's probably 10x more than that!

You've made no convincing argument to the post you responded to, disparaging the CDC definitely doesn't qualify.

derp derp. 570,000 seems like a big number so I'm going to use it to panic. Derp.
OUR COUNTRY HAS 335 MILLION PEOPLE! 570,000 is NOTHING! many of those people were killed purposely by a nutcase governor that purposely put infected people in the same residence as old, sick people in nursing homes!
Do you understand macro statistics at all? Do you understand the difference between "570k" and 335 Million?
Stop fear mongering and get ahold of yourself. You have a 10% chance, pre-vaccine of getting the virus. You have a one in many thousands chance of actually dying from the virus.
You have taken more risk every day you've driven in your entire life than the virus ever presented to you.

Cases lead to deaths and hospitalizations, so yes they are important. Seven day average for deaths is about 719, which is not an all-time low since it dipped under 600 in the summer of 2020.

Something that kills 1 in 200 is a very serious illness. Any statement leading with "Probably", especially someone just caught fibbing about deaths being at an all-time low, is useless here.
