That way no white cop will have to do his duty and shoot a black criminal. The problem is solved.
Response: Opinion
You are not the first person to have mentioned this.
I remember as far back as the 60's and 70's cops talking about such a possibility.
Then politicians step in and knock it down as Racialized Policing.......and it would
end complaints of racism against cops.
But noooooooooooooooooooooo! Wouldn't want to do that.

OP, has a point that I did not think about yet. Don't know how the Dems would oppose this one since it what they wanted. No cops in your hood, no problems its all yours people.
I'd like to see how well you were able to do your job if you were surrounded by an angry mob, shoving cameras to within an inch of your face, egging you to make just the tiniest mistake so they can have an excuse to attack you, and/or destroy you in the court of public opinion.
What we will see is slower response time, to let the situation play out, with the cops simply ordering the right amount of body bags 15 minutes later. That is the policing we earned. Had the Columbus cop waited 5 minutes, he'd simply need one for the dead girl in the pink outfit. The media would be too stupid to connect the dots between a slower response time and the end result.
Or maybe they can just quit instead, since by doing as you suggest they would be showing that they have no interest in doing their jobs properly.
White cops in my white town. Why should they quit with the typical low violent crime rates in those towns? If I were a white cop u couldn’t pay me enough to work places like the suburbs of Austin or Englewood in Chicago. Not worth any money.

If a cop gets caught intentionally stalling they’ll get the “you’re next” treatment.
