So you're finally admitting that population density is what is related to virus spread, NOT masks?
No one has claimed masks are fully preventative. They are but one part of the mitigating measures that have been advised. Places with very high population density like the APAC countries but with high mask compliance that is routine have had significantly better results than us where masks were taboo.

Are there mask mandates that call for you to wear one when no one is around you?

Are mandates without enforcement really mandates at all?

Current daily average Covid cases:

Texas -- Population: 29 million. Mask Mandate: NO Average daily cases: 3,312

Pennsylvania -- Population: 12.8 million. Mask Mandate YES Average daily cases: 4,369.

How about another:

Florida -- Population: 21.5 million. Mask Mandate: NO Average daily cases: 6,095

New York -- Population: 19.45 million. Mask Mandate: YES Average daily cases: 5,622

Where are the benefits of wearing masks or doing statewide mandates? Shouldn't all the blue states that maintain mask mandates be doing much better than these red states in terms of cases?
I think what we’re seeing is the natural peaks and valleys of this virus in spite of any of the mandates. Northern states will surge again followed southern states. It happened before and will happen again. Cases go up and then back down, same for deaths and hospitalizations. The mandates haven’t done much other then destroy people’s lives.

I can explain some of it very easily: Have you been to Texas recently?

I was there one week ago - nearly every retail business still requires masks. Large manufacturing places (such as have their headquarters NOT in Texas) still require all their employees to wear a mask, and take their temperature, every day. Fast food? Masks. Got yelled at there.

Hotel staff? mask.

Airplanes - and airports - IN TEXAS - mask.

So please stop trying to use that as a data point. The POLICY is not what you need. You need a place where contagious people are actually NOT wearing masks.
