People would think during a world wide pandemic we would all come together as one , but we have those that divide us by race, beliefs, and political affiliation . Cancel culture. If we are to be diverse , should we not be allowed to our own beliefs without being canceled? We even have this pandemic as a political football. I find it disgusting that every topic and facet of our culture is now a political football.

Is this to take us off the pandemic that is destroying our economy and many people and countries? I wonder. God have Mercy.

Masks don't stop viruses. Look all around the world!

The virus is going to do what it's going to do. You can either stay home forever or come out and rely on the 99.5% survival rate.

N95 masks work.....getting vaccinated gives 95% protection. We need to get smarter or this virus will win.

China and India have been hostile towards each other as of late.

Trump is now gone and our cases lighten up.

Social distancing, masks and the vaccine will help us get back to normal, India ignored all the science and that is why they are running over 300,000 cases a day. The more contagious variant has something to do with their problem but it's mostly ignoring the science.

India has 1.36 BILLION people! 300,000 cases is NOTHING! The USA had similar infection rates during the peak here.

Are you having trouble with macro statistics?

Of course the virus was going to run its course there too! Why are you looking at raw numbers and not a percentage of their POPULATION?

They have high pop density and 4x the population of the USA.

You need to keep things in relative perspective.

This has nothing to do with "masks" or "social distancing." The virus has run its way through every country, ESPECIALLY those with high population densities!

The virus has lost. We have already won.

Masks do nothing. Vaccines do a lot.

We have a TINY amount of deaths per day now as a percentage of our population.

It's okay. You can go outside now! Don't worry!

Modi is just slightly better version of Trump! He did not create same sort of stupid mess that Trump created at least last year where he encouraged masking and social distancing (and believe me people follow him) and when things didn't go too bad he declared victory over covid and started doing business as usual. Being a BJP leader, he also didn't mess with Hindu's festivals. Effect of that will be seen in a few weeks and will become much worse. He played politics there - he almost allowed it (Kumbha festival) to finish and then requested them to terminate the festival so that he can claim later he's so serious about covid! Just like Trump he believes holding rallies is really important. These two things together will make situation much worse. Also DOC under him managed to sell almost triple O2 last year (as he thought he'd defeated covid) and now hospitals don't have any. Again no foresight just like our dear Lord Trump

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Every country in the world has been hit. Italy, China, England, USA, Brazil, India, etc etc etc.

If they have large population and high pop density, they get hit even harder.

All of them said "wear masks, distance, etc." That BS makes NO DIFFERENCE. It's a virus and a pandemic. It will work its way through all of the world's population and kill off maybe a half percent of the weakest.

It's nature. These things have been going on for millions of years.

Stop making this political as if any politician and any set of lame, placebo policies could stop any of this.

Wake up.

This a second wave in India (not the first time it was hit.)
99.5% survival rate is survival. It's not the same quality of life prior to infection. There are long term effects of this virus that could lead to life long issues. The "long haulers" are also being studied and it's showing a higher mortality rate for them for all age groups and all levels of symptomatic infection against population means. We are only a year and a half into this thing and we're seeing the start of chronic issues already.
Yes, we all have to learn to live with this thing. Going about our lives normally leads to more mutations. I have never been for lockdowns, but we do need to be sapient in our interactions.
