I think it is hilarious that the OP's example reminds me of those old notices in the 1700's newspapers
where the slaveowners were trying to track down their runaway slaves. They always insisted that
they treated that slave so well, could not understand why their slave ran away......
Yes, the runaway or rebellious slaves were always portrayed as ingrates.
The problem will solve itself. The $300/wk is ending in 25 states, starting after this week, over the next 5 weeks.
It ends nationally 9/6.
The eviction moratorium is ending 6/30.
The stimulus checks which also goosed the income of those choosing not to work are done.
All those things paid people NOT to work.
Time to watch how choosy they are picking jobs once we stop paying them not to work, and once eviction orders start being served.
In all likelihood, 99% of the affected did nothing to improve their skills or ability to get better jobs. Tick tock, the gravy train is ending soon.
Before we criticize these people too harshly we must remember that millions of schoolchildren needed to be cared for at home due to the school buildings being closed.
Now the taxpayers can instead go back to supplementing the billionaire CEOs by providing food stamps, Medicaid, and supplemental housing for their qualifying employees due to poor pay and benefits.
If a full-time employee is paid so low that society has to subsidize their pay with food stamps etc their employer should be penalized with the cost of those services.

the good news is, a single person only has to make $12,760 to not be in poverty in the US. That's below minimum wage ($6.38) - so NOBODY makes that.
Even better news - you can earn $8.48/hr and still qualify for Medicaid. Yes, the rest of us will pay your medical care for you to work an $8.48/hr job.
Actually the reality is millions of people are forced to work for low wages.
Nobody’s forced to do anything.
