She was in foster care and who knows what her life has been like during her 16 years. I think police departments should have social workers on call in cases like this.

Social workers are all over the place in cases like this, of foster care homes. If they had been called when everyone was being rational, that might have helped detain the escalation that led to death.

By the time someone called the cops, and the cop jumped out of his car when he got there to witness one very large teenager about to stab another very large teenager, there was nothing that could have been done besides decide who to save. The girl in pink who was about to be stabbed, or the stabber.

LOL. A girl with a knife vs a social worker reading from a textbook how to discuss this with her. That's insane.

A stabber bent on butchering another girl is miles past where a social worker can help.

The Social Worker would likely end up dead on the scene, beside the girl in pink.

This situation was handled superbly by a well trained, disciplined officer.

You obviously don't have any idea about social workers and how they help to diffuse situations.

No , you don't. They are not sent to violent situations with armed perps like this girl. In controlled environments, they do well. Not in urban, violent situations.

Now I do think perp needed psychiatric care, but many years before the day she went psycho and decided to carve the Girl IN Pink up.

It ended well. Victim alive, Killer to Be dead.

No it did not end well. A girl needed help and she was killed because society failed her.

No, Girl in pink alive and well. She did need help, being attacked by a Psycho. She is perfectly fine.

Society has no obligation to assist stabbers desiring to murder.

I'm sure the dead criminal had access to a regular social worker. But in this case she called the Police and demanded they come. That was a good move.

Unfortunately she wasn't smart enough to not attempt to murder someone in front of the Police officer who executed his duty spectacularly well.
