Former President George W. Bush told radio host Hugh Hewitt on April 22 that he is working with the Koch Network to help President Joe Biden pass an amnesty and cheap-labor bill through Congress.

After a while you realize all of them are all on the same team and have been for awhile. Trump being the exception.

Trump was in neither camp. He upset the apple cart and they spent 4 years making sure that no one liked him.
But he sure did shake up DC didn't he ?

Bush pushed an amnesty when he was president also. The phones rang off the hook in protest from the American people. Now that liberals outnumber conservatives he's trying it again via Biden and his fellow Democrats. It's truly disgusting that these days our immigration laws are meaningless and the needs of foreign invaders are put above the needs of our own citizens.

I'd be willing to bet that his son Jeb's marriage to a Mexican and his remarks below in regards to illegal immigration played a role in his views also.

"Jeb Bush may be the Republican Party’s solution to its deficit among Hispanic voters. But first Bush, who speaks Spanish, is married to a Mexican-American woman and has called illegal immigration an “act of love,” would have to survive the GOP primary".

Anyone who's spent any time working for a corporation knows that 95% of the time the higher ups only pretend to care about the feedback of the floor worker, thinking their status or degree makes them better than you. I'm sure it's no different with politics which is why so many of our politicians are neocons and neolibs that work behind our backs to sabotage the country in support of their rich buddies.

Sensible immigration policy would be to give citizenship to anyone who can speak english and is willing to work, with restriction on what welfare they are allowed to suck from their first 10 years here. The swamp way of doing it is to let in anyone no matter who they are, what language they speak, or culture they are, and just let them disappear into the country sucking off government benefits when needed, and giving them a slap on the wrist if they commit crimes.

Why is that so-called “Republicans” like George Bush drift to the left over time and show their true colors?

But the opposite almost never happens?

How else will the latte liberals have their yards landscaped, nails done, and toilets cleaned if not through low paid immigrants? Of course, it sounds so much better when they pretend it's humanitarian. But with our massive unemployment, and in the midst of the pandemic, I can't see how they can justify having much immigration at all.

Biden is pretty centrist. Bush wasn't an extremist either. It's startling just how far right the GOP has moved in recent years.

Bush was always further to the left than most thought as well as a globalist so it never was a far reach.
