Seeing a video of Christians on a plane singing spiritual songs left Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar wondering what might happen if her Muslim family behaved the same way.
“I think my family and I should have a prayer session next time I am on a plane,” she tweeted alongside the video.
the songs they sung were likely not about beheading infidels and bringing down aircraft....activities that most americans associate with muslims, so yea, she is right...behaviours - even by minority subsets - do drive perceptions

And yet in the Old Testament, the 'Christian God' instructed his followers to slaughter without mercy, entire towns of people,if even just one blasphemer was found there, women, children, etc.
Not to mention, not too long ago, Christians believed it was immoral and wrong for interracial relationships. Seems like Christianity does not have a great track record either.

I think some (not all) Muslims believe “diversionary talk” (Lahw al-hadith) as any sort of speech that deviates people’s minds from the righteous way and attracts the concentration of people to unjust sayings. Muslim apologists have expanded the unjust saying to any sort of expression of mind which may contain poetry or singing or music is forbidden.
So if you sing kill the infidels it's OK, but if you sing about joy and peace... they throw you from the plane.

The key difference is to be found within observing how the various Abrahamic religions, and their respective followers, have evolved over time.

Lots of Christians (Rev. Wright/Rev. Sharpton et al.) still believe this today. Not to mention Muslims like Farrakhan.
