So much for the "experts".
Throwing the baby out with the bath water because math is hard.

They told us the vaccines are 95% effective, not 100%.

The vaccines aren't a 100% guarantee against sickness and death from Covid. They just improve your odds, and are a tool in the toolkit. Hopefully, now that the vaccines are here, they will also pour money into development of therapeutics to be given as soon as people become sick (not when they are half dead in the hospital and it is too late).

The takeaway is that this virus is here to stay and there is nothing that will ever give us 100% certainty regarding Covid. It's also unrealistic to think we can have a strategy of total eradication of this virus by vaccine.

We will have to learn to live with it. Since we have become so highly attuned to risks of dying, I wonder when people will start losing weight and exercising? 78% of people who were hospitalized for Covid were obese or overweight. That would really improve one's odds of surviving not just Covid, but the other causes of death.

Is that scientific enough for you?
Simply testing positive from a nasal swab is not proof of infection. The seasonal flu is still with us, so are sinus infections, ear infections, the common cold, a stuffy nose and nasal congestion, etc... I suppose in your world, the only thing that can make you feel sick with a headache and a stuffy nose is.... COVID.

These 4 keep popping up in various studies and articles.
These four risk factors are routinely mentioned as factors that make people more vulnerable to a long list of diseases and disorders. This is not a situation unique to this virus.

Lower deaths and hospitalizations is reason enough for me.

Here's this study about the flu vaccine and obesity dated 2014.
Plenty of others out there with other vaccines.

The relationship between obesity and vaccine efficacy is a serious issue. Previous studies have shown that vaccine efficacy is lower in the obese than in the non-obese.

And we have a lot of people that fall into one or more of those categories...in fact the majority of Americans do.
We are not a healthy society.

ohhhh! Anecdotal evidence!

5 members of my team, including me, got their second shot yesterday. 3 of us took the day off in advance. 1 changed their mind and came in.

2 of us are reporting flue like symptoms, mostly just feeling sore. Pretty much exactly what we expected.

A positive swab and sudden loss of taste and smell is good enough for a Covid diagnosis in my book!
