They were founded to be just that. Hoover interfered with voting, black leaders, those with opposing views of those in Government power, pretty much anyone on Hoover's crap list.
CIA is a literal extension of political power for the USA to ship propaganda, ideas, and insert our thinking into other government/organizations abroad. CIA is always working an angle just keep that in mind and never take what they do at face value. If the CIA did everything at face value then there would be no point in having a CIA type of agency. But they can function as a literal political arm of the US government.
The problem with many government jobs like federal law enforcement or a cadet at one of the military academies is that they actually require a politician as a reference. Some actually require a letter from a congress person as a reference. Civil service/government jobs should be based on tests & minimum requirements like a degree, license, miltiary service etc.
It's one thing for management/department heads to be a political appointment but the actual workforce should not. It should 100 civil service related with NO poliitical references required for the applicants. And as much management as possible should come from with in. It will be a decade or two for the politial hacks to become a non factor/work their way out of the system but one has to start somewhere.

They have always had a political side whether that is good or bad depends who you ask but it wasn't until the last Administration that they were enrolled by a President to act on his private enemies list...
The swamp is deeply entrenched in these agencies with an agenda you'd have to be deaf, dumb, blind and stupid not to recognize.
How do we fix it?
You just can't tear it down and start over as there would be an important void.

The swamp created these agencies along with the universities that cull through the thousands of applicants to make sure only like minded individuals get accepted. Face it, it's going to another network of spies and intellect to bring them down. Maybe Osama Bin Laden had the right idea the whole time.

Yep, in all their years of operations, along with the FBI, when have they ever legitimately thwarted a plan? Heck, people still aren't buying that Epstein killed himself.

You obviously cannot discern the difference between police and the FBI/CIA. The FBI and CIA are political organizations of the Democrat Party similar to the Gestapo in Germany in the 1930's that take out and jail their political enemies and allow rampant criminality of their party members.
