"The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants,” lead supporter Sen. Edward “Ted” Kennedy (D-Mass.) told the Senate during debate. “It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs.”

why did ted lie so blatantly?

yes, that was a rhetorical question. we already know.

Don't answer a question with a question. You can either come up with a cogent response, or move along.

You have no business telling others how to respond to a question. It is a question that you need to address with a cogent response. You don't want anyone telling you how to vote. So why do you think you should tell anyone what to do when it comes to voting?

It is my business. Answering a question with another question shows cowardice on your part. It shows you don't want to answer my questions. If you won't come up with a cogent response to my question, I'm not going to answer your question. You come up with a cogent, logical response to my questions, because I asked first. I'm not answering until you answer mine first.

Do you agree with Tucker?
No, I do not agree.

I complain about too much population growth all the time on these forums, which since the end of the Baby Boom is primarily fueled by too much immigration in too short a time period.

IMHO they should have adjusted total immigration numbers down somewhat years ago in the 1970s/1980s when American workers wages began to fall behind inflation but that would have took real leadership, something lacking in both the Republican and Democratic parties.

But to blame individual immigrants is just absurd, many of which are just trying to get ahead like everyone else, especially since many are coming here because America is a democracy.

I gave you a cogent response. You don't like it? Well, that's just too bad. No need for you to respond. Buh bye!

You answered a question with a question. I asked "Why should I vote the way YOU want? Why should anyone vote the way YOU want people to vote?" to another person. You responded: "Why should I vote for the way you want?".

I disagree with Tucker Carlson on what he had to say. And I have no reason to agree with him. I do not see how that immigration act would threaten American democracy. I especially don't see it considering many people immigrate to America because they are looking for democracy.

I don't blame the individuals who came here in accordance with our immigration laws. In fact, I applaud those who obeyed our immigration laws. They have a right to be here. Illegal aliens have no right to be here and need to leave.

However, I do blame the powers that be for passing the 1965 law and got it passed based on lies. I also blame them for not slowing down legal immigration. We are long overdue for a breather but we have too many cowards on both sides of the aisle who love their nice salaries but refuse to do their jobs. Those cowards are the same ones who wring their hands over climate change and environmental destruction but, at the same time, encourage hyper immigration.

I especially don't see it considering many people immigrate to America because they are looking for democracy. This is how I see. For Tucker Carlson, he sees immigrants as a political threat. He knows that a majority of immigrants coming here aren't White. He knows that a majority of minorities vote Democrat, and that scares him. Interestingly, Black Americans, who have been here since slavery days, vote Democrat more than anyone else.
