People have been saying "unhoused" instead of "homeless." I bet somebody said "homeless" had negative connotations so they changed it to unhoused. The problem is, it means exactly the same thing. Maybe it's a California thing?
People stopped saying "PC (Political Correctness)." Instead we are saying "woke" or "cancel culture." They are all basically the same thing.
I don't hear the term "multiculturalism" that much. Don't know what that means. It also meant something different between here and the UK.
"Systemic racism" got to be big last summer. We might as well just say "racism."
When your only arguments are emotional ones, you have to put a lot of thought into the branding and marketing.
Just like when "Global Warming" was changed to "Climate Change." That way, when contradictory data that showed COOLING was presented, it was no big deal.
This is the way elite liberals in the teachers lounge at Berkeley try to speak. Not normal people.
Everyone kind of fills in their own definition, so it remains a nebulous concept.
Because if you define it clearly, then you can deal with it and take steps to solve the issue. But the liberal elites don't want it figured out or solved. They want the confusion to continue to sow discord and division in the culture. It's worked well for them so far...
Hasn't everyone noticed that the term "systemic racism" is the new/current term that Sleepy Joe and Co are throwing around like confetti these days? Every speech and remark contains at least one or two references to Systemic Racism applied to anyone who doesn't agree with their BS.
The implication, of course, is that it's going to take a lot of "Woke" actions and legislation of many kinds to counteract this Systemic Racism because SR is present in nearly everything we do. Jobs, taxes, housing, voting, and Climate Change are all due to Systemic Racism.
strategy of the left and their media enforcers is to redefine terms to create or solve problems, to make issues appear larger or smaller than they really are in order to support a political narrative.
terminology change is not just popular lexicon fade aways. It is now purposeful and weaponized to support a political agenda.

the humanitarian disaster created by biden is not a crisis, just a normal fluctuation in illegal aliens.

Wokeness and Cancel culture are far worse than merely being “PC”
The Commission therefore proposes the following framework to distinguish between different forms of racial disparity and racism:
1. Explained racial disparities: this term should be used when there are persistent ethnic differential outcomes that can demonstrably be shown to be as a result of other factors such as geography, class or sex.
2. Unexplained racial disparities: persistent differential outcomes for ethnic groups with no conclusive evidence about the causes. This applies to situations where a disparate outcome is identified, but there is no evidence as to what is causing it.
3. Institutional racism: applicable to an institution that is racist or discriminatory processes, policies, attitudes or behaviours in a single institution.
4. Systemic racism: this applies to interconnected organisations, or wider society, which exhibit racist or discriminatory processes, policies, attitudes or behaviours.
5. Structural racism: to describe a legacy of historic racist or discriminatory processes, policies, attitudes or behaviours that continue to shape organisations and societies today.
A report out of the UK. They, of course, were denigrated for all sorts of reasons for providing a report the Crits didn’t agree with. You can see the researcher’s bios on page 4 & 5.
