More great news out of Florida

Ron DeSantis to Sign Bill Banning Social Media ‘Deplatforming,’ ‘Shadow Banning,’ ‘Censoring’

Social media companies would be unable to permanently kick people off their platforms under a tough new Florida law.

The bill, passed by the GOP-dominated state Legislature Thursday and awaiting Gov. Ron DeSantis’ signature, would make it a crime to remove state political candidates from Twitter and Facebook, and would mete out penalties of $250,000 a day for any statewide candidate who is deplatformed.

The town square is now privately owned. Big media are effectively monopolies.

Yes, I understand the irony of the GOP actually hating on what are effectively monopolies while ignoring others.

I also understand the irony of Dems loving monopolies.

I'm thinking it will, SCOTUS has suggested they'd support this type of bill.

So, CD is a social media site. Under this bill would CD be restricted from banning the trolls that routinely post nonsensical crap here?

Well, not anymore. Not when big business cozy's up to the government - via one party. He is protecting democracy that democrats and big business want to destroy. Look, the world is changing and parties are taking different stances than they have historically as a result. Might as well get used to it because we are in an era of unprecedented change.
