And the mentality of these people is so easy to dissect by just looking at their other "work".

https://harvardlawreview.org/2019/05...tation-nation/

K-Sue Park, one of the main speakers on this panel writing in Harvard Law Review. In william Safire's review of her article:

"Self-deportation is a concept to explain the removal strategy of making life so unbearable for a group that its members will leave a place. The term is strongly associated with recent state and municipal attempts to “attack every aspect of an illegal alien’s life,” including the ability to find employment and housing, drive a vehicle, make contracts, and attend school. However, self-deportation has a longer history, one that predates and made possible the establishment of the United States. As this Article shows, American colonists pursued this indirect approach to remove native peoples as a prerequisite for establishing and growing their settlements."

These entire academic "disciplines" are centered around very basic principles: America is an abomination and should be taken apart piece by piece as it is rotten to the core.

So this country has no right to control illegal immigration because it displaced Native Americans.

This article is basically a snot nosed Reddit liberals reaction prettied up for Academia.

Not even close.

The amendment prohibits public or charter schools from teaching:

One race or gender is superior;
Any person is “inherently privileged, racist, sexist or oppressive” because of their race or gender;
A person should receive adverse treatment due to his race or sex;
Their moral character is determined by race or gender;
A person bears responsibility for past actions by other members of his race or sex;
A person should feel discomfort or other psychological distress due to their race or sex;
A qualifier is racist or sexist or designed to persecute members of another race or gender;
The United States is inherently racist or sexist;
Promoting the violent overthrow of the US government;
Promote division or resentment between caste, gender, religion, creed, non-violent political affiliation or class; or
Describe the character traits, values, moral codes, privileges or beliefs of a race or sex.

Certain democrats and blacks have been purging history for several years now. I would think if they want all evidence of slavery, Jim Crow, civil rights violations, discrimination and oppression removed that this amendment would be a good thing. I guess getting rid of actual racism, not just reminders of slavery doesnt support their own narrative.

You got some facts to support any of your accusations or is it just your racist stereotyping you have been lead to believe.

The "free speech" angle the left is using on this makes no sense to me. First off we're talking mostly about government schools here and the first amendment is meant to protect the people not the state. This misperception may also be behind the "state militia" interpretation to the 2nd amendment. The amendment doesn't protect your right to arm yourself but rather it is a collective right of the state to raise an army to protect itself. Secondly the freedom of speech of the educator is held sacrosanct but it's hard to rectify freedom of speech being associated with a captive audience. You'll notice these critical race theory classes are seldom offered as an elective course, especially at the pre-college level. The student and the parents are offered no freedom to choose whether or not the children will be subjected to this supposed exercise in free speech, and in fact being subjected to it is a requirement for receiving a passing grade.

It's ironic that freedom of expression is used as a justification for preaching an ideology that itself has no respect for the concept of freedom and instead promotes forced equity. It also promotes the notion that many forms of speech are verboten and not protected by the very same amendment they are using as cover for their indoctrination. Not only is this ironic but it is also cynical and unfortunately, extremely effective.

Let's not forget that Biden* appointed someone to the DOJ's civil rights bureau who espoused that people with more melanin are superior.

Looks like you received t a substandard education. I went to public schools in flyover country from 1959-1971 and was taught the good and the bad. But mostly the good, I guess.

We left NJ for TN to get away from nutty, self-described "progressives" and their oppressiveness.

It's wonderful down here. Don't you agree?

Most Americans don't know about slave breeding which was a major "industry" in VA prior to the Civil War. Most don't know about sundown towns and counties in the south where Blacks had to leave before sundown. The burning of Tulsa's Black Wall Street, the white coup which forced the elected Black government of Wilmington NC from office all are part of our painful history. For those of us who lived through the 1950's, we remember the reign of white terror in the south in which churches and synagogues were bombed and where Birmingham AL had earned the name of "Bombingham." We are now hearing that somehow Citizen Councils were civic groups. In fact they were the first step in being terrorized by the Klan. Getting a visit from them was a warning, not abide by the warning to stop serving Blacks and it would be followed by the Klan.

Slavery was reintroduced in the south after the Civil War through convict leasing. Almost a million were swept up into a system where a minor infraction of law would land a person in jail where then the local magistrate could lease the person out to a business and the state would get the money. Ask a kid what "red-lining" was and they are ignorant of it.

In short, the GOP is trying to further dummy down Americans in our history.

My guess is those objecting to the lessons of history feel guilty and can't admit the horror of what was done.
You realize that pretty much all of history, USA and the world, is full of horror. It can be seen from our earliest writings. Do we need to teach small children the details of how Native Americans were slaughtered and discriminated against, how women were treated as second class citizens, how immigrants were treated, the poor, the handicapped, the mentally challenged. Do we need to focus on past discriminations and how the government and corporations, monarchies, royals, religions, military power took advantage, used, threatened, killed, experimented on the unfortunate with no money or power. Should we really get into how chitty humankind is. To what end?

Is that what is important, the past. Or should we give them the cliff notes on history and focus on educating our children in critical thinking, a skills that will help them succeed as self-sufficient, independent, productive and decent people.

The only trucks I see around my neck are Denalis and other $70k plus rigs. Haven't seen one confederate flag in recent or long term memory.

But please keep your head in the sand and do not move here, and tell all of your friends not to either.
