The lawyers also pointed out juror misconduct as another reason for a new trial.

Would be impossible at this point to seat impartial jurors, and more than likely, the same thing would happen again, those loyal to BLM would find a way to get on the jury or disguise their associations.

The Appeals court will likely also factor in the societal impacts of their decision, they are well aware, granting him a new trial will mean more destruction...they CANNOT, not factor that into their decision!!

The defense could not even get any decent amount of expert witnesses. Experts are all too scared. Witnesses know its going to be broadcast. They need media blackout as well as different city.

Sorry, but to protect the United States Constitution and our democracy, I’m fine with risking our urban centers to ensure that everybody receives a fair and just trial in our legal system.

I’m against mob justice and trial by TV. That idiot Maxine Waters inciting violence, the President giving his opinion BEFORE the verdict was read and the city of Minnesota paying mega Millions to Floyd’s family BEFORE the start of the trail.

If we are going to blame anybody for a retrial, we can blame to above parties. And if our cities end up burning, I blame the same people again, along with every single rioter who lack the mental capacity to control their negative impulsive behavior... Their is no excuse in a civil society for blind rage... From any Anarchist group or ethnic groups who feel that mob just is still justice.

IMHO, Chauvin shouldn’t have been a cop and was only one part on this crime, but as an American, he is still entitled to a fair trial that’s not rigged against him... Especially, from a juror who was in for him at the get go.

The trial was fair.

Most ranting that it wasn't are the folks siding with Chauvins deeds.

This motion is A-Typical for a defense lawyer to produce PRIOR to sentencing.

Where this lawyer Nelson went Rogue is with the bashing of the judges decisions. At every step of the way, the judge used favorable discretion towards the defense. Constantly being fair in rulings. Nelson KNEW months before and had petition for a change of venue. He KNEW then that he was in for his own challenge to DEFEND. He himself choose the jury right along with the prosecution. He had the same powers to deny a jury seat.

Its understandable that Nelson would want to get his client off on a technicality. Because the Evidence and the Presentation to the jury was so iron clad for the prosecution.

Given that a large proportion of Americans support BLM protests, if none of the jurors did then the jury would be skewed. The idea that only people who support the police should be on the jury is wrong. After all, when (other) gang members are tried ,they don`t insist on a jury of all gang supporters.

He got one. He broke police protocol and looked like he had the remorse and detachment of a stone cold serial killer. Remember, he got a trial, the man he murdered in cold blood, did not.

I think he was guilty of Manslaughter and think he deserves to be in prison.

But like most people, it is clear to me that given the entirety of the circumstances surrounding the crime and aftermath, Chauvin had no chance of a fair trial as long as the Jurors were not sequestered and identities protected.

Chauvin and his lawyer had no answer for the 9 minute video and that video is not going away.

Yes, I understand that many people think a trial was completely unnecessary at all. Because the video and all....

The juror in question was one of them I suspect.
