Why is no one talking about or doing anything about this pandemic? It's far deadlier than covid-19 and affects more people. It costs our healthcare system and taxpayers hundreds of billions every year. It's become so bad it's now a national security issue in the United States...
Putting HFCS in everything makes the farming lobby very, very happy.
I've had to curb my sweet tooth because my body doesn't tolerate high fructose corn sweetners very well any more. It affects my energy level and my moods not to mention my digestive system.
Respectfully, the obesity epidemic is constantly analyzed and lamented. But I think the problem is that a lot of Americans don't have the discipline to alter their diets. A lot of people are (understandably) hooked on cheap, convenient fast food.. and are ok with sitting on a couch gaming & watching Disney+.
Obesity epidemic ends when Americans make different lifestyle choices. Simple solution, but requires committed execution. My opinion, government intervention isn't really required or helpful.

Why isn't anyone doing anything about it? Do you remember the response when Bloomberg tried to limit soft drink sizes? That didn't go over so well with some states
