Really? You know what is inside the wall's, next to the brick? How are the shingles (via nails) attached to your house? What about the ceiling that you look at every day? You know what holds the insulation from not dropping on you from your ceiling?

Here in Florida, we have what you called the Spanish Mission style house.
It adds $36,000 to the price of new home on average. It is high time we get rid of the tariffs on Canadian lumber. That is not the whole solution but it is a start.
They did.
Last December they reduced the tariffs from over 20 percent to 9 percent.
Trump admin. didn't fuss about it because it was admitting they screwed up by putting the tariffs on in the first place.
It was the original cause for lumber costs increasing and then the pandemic just added to it.

So, the entire house is not framed in wood, to include the roof, which in a normal house the roof is supported by trusses (that hold the roof up) to add the actual roof?
I'd love to see plans like this, I could be wrong as I am not a house builder, however, I have some experience with housing.

It’s a magic house. Needs no wood for framing and needs no electric current for power.
Switches give power, stucco is structural.
Last summer I build a small 10x10 deck and was trying to decide should I use pressure treated pine or composite. Over a two week period the PT pine deck boards were within 15% of the composite deck boards. My decision was made for me.
Im removing a 10 x 10' wall to make 2 brs into 1 br Both sides sheathed in 1x12 pine.Whole house built like that including ceilings. Milling it into new trim. The lumber in this house is worth more than the house.built in 1896.
