Leftist policies just don't work. At least in the US. You can see how they lack a basic understanding of well...everything. They think they can wave a magic wand and make everything better by throwing money at it and nothing else....that the houses will magically build themselves with all the red tape they put in place that makes it hard to get anything done all. They think that by throwing money at minorities and welfare recipients and giving them free health care they will magically stop being criminals and become productive members of society...that rewarding irresponsible behavior at all levels of government ever works...it doesn't, it just makes people lazy, entitled, and corrupt.

Self help types peddle this notion we shouldn't be wage slaves and everyone should go into business for themselves, but society would literally collapse if everyone did that. You need workers to get anything done in society...who's going to build houses, high rises, run electrical and plumbing into these buildings, maintain the utilities and infrastructure? Who's going to get the goods to the stores? If we promote this narrative of collecting welfare for doing nothing because wahhh work is so oppressive and soul draining, everything falls apart.

I admit I straddle both positions on this issue. I think people should be paid well for their work, and factory work can be soul draining, on the other hand we need these workers. Life is not meant to be an easy, sheltered bubble.

EXACTLY. This mindset gets junkies and alkies into trouble always wanting to be in a state of gratification and comfort.

But this also points out it's 'the PURSUIT of happiness'.

It's a phony surplus. They ignore obligations such as pension for Unionized employees.

Another grandiose liberal plan to solve homelessness. The tens of billions of dollars they've already spent didn't work, but maybe another 8 billion will do the trick?
