Liz Cheney's Expected Ouster Shows the GOP Stands for Nothing but One Man's Whims

https://reason.com/2021/05/10/liz-ch...ne-mans-whims/

The main qualification of Cheney's likely replacement as chair of the House Republican Conference is her willingness to indulge Donald Trump's election fantasy.

The comparison between Cheney and Stefanik speaks volumes about the extent to which the Republican Party has devolved into a personality cult that elevates Trump's capricious demands above any principles or policies it once claimed to support.

Cheney is also notably more conservative, receiving a lifetime score of 80 percent from Heritage Action for America, compared to Stefanik's 48 percent.

I fervently hope you are right. Because democracy in these United States of America is at stake, IMO.

According to The Hill, the Vote was overwhelming to kick Cheney to the curb.
But Lyndsey Graham says there was no fraud. Why aren't they going after him?

It is odd.

And do i think the GOP are cowards for doing a 'secret vote' -- hell yes.

People like Jordan don't care -- they are outrageous and still get voted in -- but there's a whole bunch of Republicans that are chicken !@#$ about how they voted on this.

The hilarity in this entire saga is that Liz Cheney is more conservative than Trump ever could be on his most right wing pandering day, yet because her head wasn't up Trump's ass about every single issue, she is now persona non grata to the Republican House leadership.

You can't make this stuff up. And Republicans don't see the irony. Hahahahahaha!
The problem was not that Cheney voted to impeach. After all, 6 others did, too. (Can you name them?)

Chaney's problem was her inability to move on and shut up about it after her vote was defeated. If she had stayed quiet and not fed the Democrat Bottom Feeders and their Media Minions she might have stayed.
Looks a little better for 2022.

A true Republican and conservative isn't trump. If you think it is - or ever was - you are a sad individual.

Define that. Seems no one has one definition.

True some extremists want to disband but most want to make sure that the solution to problems in communities isn't just to throw more people aggressiveness on the issue.

So until there is a consensus on what defund means in practice --- saying that means nothing.

But she only fought back because Trump and friends continue to lie about the evidence of wide spread fraud.

Seriously -- you are suggesting that people not speak the truth because ......it makes Trump look bad.

It doesn't make everyone look bad...it makes Trump look bad.
