No doubt some people strongly feel that a show of guns and more guns is an answer to our nation's problem with mass shootings and how to respond to past violent events.

"Never again will you come into a neighborhood, a Black community, and massacre people the way you did Greenwood, even the red summer in Chicago.”
So, no mention about going into inner city black neighborhoods and dealing with the NUMBER ONE THREAT TO BLACKS - OTHER BLACKS? When I see this kind of thing it just goes in one ear and out the other. Very selective outrage on their part, that will only further divide.
Yes. If there is to be a standard measure for those allowed gun ownership, having far leftist views should be added to the disqualifications, like any other mental health issue.

The only problem with your theory is when the shootings go way way down after the leftists are all disarmed........
I think many on this thread are misunderstanding the 2nd Amendment rights...
By definition, to 'exercise' 2nd Amendment rights...that means, drawing firearms on the Govt, in an attempt to frighten them, ( I cannot imagine police support such a thing)
This is okay. As long as it's not rednecks with guns. These folks have every right to knock off a few people, say a young Caucasian woman and her three children, just to atone for what happened in 1921. Or 1821, for that matter. Or 1721. Or 1221.
