Those folks on Jan 6 were just exercising their first amendment rights to peacefully assemble and petition for a redress of grievances. It was the Capitol police who put up barriers that made it go a bit unruly. After all, when a large crowd went into the Senate chambers before to petition and express their opinion during the Kavanaugh hearings, those folks were allowed right on it. And they proceeded to shout at and otherwise harass sitting Senators. Even rushing one as he tried to escape into the elevator.
What would have happened if those folks were blocked by the Capitol Police?
First of all, ANTIFA et al has also assaulted Federal and City buildings, and killed people.
Nobody was assaulted in the unarmed protests. It was excessive, as is the grossly over-the-top characterization of.the events as Insurrection, which in the ultimate analysis, does far more harm to the country that the protesters did!!!!
So to you it's a total myth that none of the police at the capitol were assaulted? And people need to understand that as the truth?

I don't believe the bold-face lies of either party, which is why I'm registered as an independent voter. My voting history over the past 40 years has typically meandered across party lines. Until recently, I never really felt either party had a clear lead in the bold-face lies race. However, a clear winner has emerged over the last decade or so: Democrats. They're so full of crap 24/7 that it's hard to find truth in anything they say. Worse, they flip-flop constantly and unabashedly. Zero principles. Zero character. They do nothing but say/do whatever placates uninformed and victim culture voters.

Apparently, according to the left, those people should have been shot when trying to get through the door into the Senate chambers.
Who's fine with cops being beat, whether at the capitol or on the street during the riots? Oh wait, those on the left are fine with cops being beaten, or killed, in the streets during the riots.
