Neither Austin or San Francisco is predominantly white. Also Oakland isn’t predominantly black either. Austin is 49% White and San Francisco is 40% White. Oakland is 22% Black and 29% White.

Also while I wouldn’t call Jackson safe it had roughly a homicide rate of 21 per 100,000 which has tripled in this current year. It used to have only around 35 homicides a year in 2009. It’s mostly been up since then.

If they earned 70,000 a year it would take time but the area would be significantly safer, 100%. Especially with the cost of living. Also Austin isn’t a rich city, the vast majority of people there are middle class, hence why the median income is around 70,000, the U.S average is around 64,000.

Does OP know that the term "homicide" is a legal coding?

If Jackson's population was far more solidly middle class, and with far lower unemployment rates, there would be far less crime.

Another one of these threads.

What is your solution to this? I know, gun registration. It's always about gun registration.

My solution. No signature bonds. Enforce existing laws. Make sure criminals are in jail. Crack down on the drug culture. Arrest all gang members for simply being in a gang. Make it so it's virtually impossible to form a gang in a major city, and hire more police when needed, as opposed to defunding.

I see the drug culture and it makes me question my former position on decriminalizing them. Drugs just lead to bad outcomes all around. I'm talking about meth, cocaine, heroin. Cut off all welfare for anyone caught in possession of drugs for 1 year.

Hey you guys... you are not supposed to bring up race. You racists! The left will just call it systematic racism anyways and blame all the suburban whites for the problem. I will say it's not even a "race" problem, it's a "culture" problem and the left is too quick to condone this multicultural society when I would argue some cultures are superior to others.

Crazy isn't it ? Too bad we have areas in this country that have such violence. Wonder why ?

Perhaps these are the white supremacists that Joe warned us about.

I believe Jackson has more homicides currently than even Atlanta, and it exceeded Baton Rouge in 2020. Something is wrong there, beyond politics and race(for those who want to go there).

It's always surreal when a capital city has a very high murder rate, if not the highest in its region, state, or nation. It's suppose to be the go to place for employment opportunity and a gateway to the middle class in its own state. Jackson as it is right now is like DC from the 1980s and early 1990s, minus the crack market that fueled the violence back then.

No. Poor "black people" commit more crimes. You don't see a lot of poor whites in Appalachia stealing and killing each other just because they are poor.

Wait, so you're saying that it's the middle and upper class whites that are accounting for the majority of violent crime in America?
