What do you do with a 5th grader? He is a baby. Just write him off? How do we fix this. The child is on his way to becoming a hardened criminal, dead before 20, or locked up for life. Just tragic. How do we fix this? What a tragic waste of a life. He vpold have been anything if he was raised right in a safe environment.

We probably can't "fix" this kid since he was released back into the environment that created him.
Make them go get a SWITCH, and whoop their ass (If you don't know what a switch is, maybe you are part of the problem).
And lets be straight, I don't mean whip their ass to the point where they are in the hospital, but discipline your child, period.

perhaps, given the discussion i have had with two of my best friends who happened to be black it seems pretty accurate. But they were also both military brats so had a lot of dicipline from both their fathers. This being said neither of those guys would have dreamed of doing anything criminal or violent towards anybody accept in self defense. But as i said they had that strong male father figure in their upbringings, unfortunately more and more young black men cannot say the same and are also probably not getting much punishment in their households.
At the least, he should go to a military boarding school. He needs some discipline, as well as a stable foundation for life. The streets are most definitely not doing that for him. His home life isn't providing any of that. He should also be taken far away from the place he was living. One of the reasons it would be good for him to get into a boarding school out in the countryside. Get him detoxed from the stuff in the ghetto.
It really could make all the difference in the world for this kid. More people in inner cities that get out of that lifestyle should start these types of schools like Boys Ranch. I recently saw a young man who grew up like that who has gotten away from that lifestyle and started a school that kids can go live that is meant to mentor these kids. I saw him in an interview. I need to look it up and see if I can find him again. Anyway, that’s the answer, not sending him right back to the same home environment or even getting him into the foster care system. How many foster care people are going to want to deal with a little gang banger like this kid? They’re not going to be able to handle him.
Or more former military or just people who care about mentoring kids could do something like this.
A Depo shot might prevent ovulation. However, once said woman gets off of welfare, who knows what will happen. Not all criminals come from mothers who were permanently on welfare. Some women sleep around, and get money from boyfriends who deal drugs. Some come from neglectful mothers who happen to have some form of work, even if that work doesn't pay well. Welfare stipulations alone aren't going to work.
Consider this. In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a single mother beat her kids with an RCA cable. She got arrested. Why did she beat her kids with a cable? Three of her sons committed burglary. Here is something to ask. Why were those kids burglarizing another person's home? Where did they get an idea like that?
BTW, all 6 of her kids were taken out of the home. She was a working mother who had 6 kids by age 30. One of her sons was 13, which tells me her first kid was had as a teenager.
I used the term reduce, not eliminate the number of children born to the unproductive. People often try to thwart any efforts towards change but this plan could mitigate some of the problem. I'm sure most would agree that reducing the number of children born in ghettos in this country would be a step in the right direction.
If destruction of the black family was caused by LBJ's Great Society welfare programs, why aren't there more efforts to undo this source of destruction?
People who work for a living typically limit the number of children they produce to the number they can support. Women on Welfare/AFDC have no inducement to limit their offspring and new babies give them something to do with their unlimited time.

Yes-
He has already been ruined and has been trained to be a criminal.
Liberalism is killing the US. The best chance those kids have is to be raised in an orphanage (stopped by liberals) and given some structure and discipline in their lives. When they have no parental guidance, no emphasis on education, and are steeped in a culture in which violence and drugs are celebrated, they will grow into adult criminals.
Should we "write these individuals off"? Yes- they are destroying the rest of society and are of no benefit to anyone.
We keep hearing, "black lives matter", yet we are faced with daily evidence that this is not true. If a culture promotes violence, crime, and lack of education, then perhaps they do not "matter".
NO ONE can change the trajectory of a culture except the people themselves.

Yup- if on welfare, mandatory sterilization.
Currently, we have the least intelligent, the least educated, and those with the most unstable home environments producing the most children. It is similar to the movie "Idiocracy" in which we will eventually be overrun with idiots.
