What do you do with a 5th grader? He is a baby. Just write him off? How do we fix this. The child is on his way to becoming a hardened criminal, dead before 20, or locked up for life. Just tragic. How do we fix this? What a tragic waste of a life. He vpold have been anything if he was raised right in a safe environment.
Stumped.
Find the parents and hold them responsible too. Publicly. Make an example. Sterilize the whole bunch.
Given that the conscience of a human being is formed between birth and age 4, I don't hold out much hope for this one.
Clearly a case of a(nother) feral child.
Once anyone of any age commits a crime of this magnitude, it is my strong belief that they belong in the penal system. Not ideal, sure, but having a violent juvenile out on the streets is not an viable option. How many more people will this maniac attack, and very likely in the future, murder?
The military does not want to be the dumping ground for the troubled, misdirected, disenfranchised, and dangerous.
It's past time that reform schools be reinstituted.
He is a victim of being raised on the streets of the ghetto and probably no father and a mother who doesn't give a s**t and is probably a drug addict and a prostitute. If intervention is not done soon this child is a lost soul who will spend the rest of his life in and out of prison or will be dead before he is 20yrs old. Not to mention how many innocent people will be victim of his crimes. Stop giving certain people a free ride and within one generation you will see an improvement.

Ah they are just kids. Brought up in the hood and that is what they are used to. The Asian man really should know better than to be roaming around that area. He learned his lesson and all is okay. He lived. That is all that matters. No jail time needed. The kids got what they needed, so all is fine. This is our new country. Lets just embrace it.

He's out on the streets right now. Hes recently committed robberies, carjackings, assault and they released him. Ok what is wrong with this picture and why does this not warrent a national discussion?

The kids are just misunderstood youth. They should be able to steel a little and take what they are owed. That Asian shouldn't have done anything, just hand over he belongings. I blame the Asian as we need to be more understanding of our black population.

I agree with you. This mother has proven incapable of supervising him. He needs at the very least a secure therapeutic foster care situation; a living situation where he is very carefully supervised and contained. That he's skilled at driving a car at 11 is telling - he's been at this a long while, and has had teaching along the way that has enabled and honed his antisocial criminal behaviors.

Military school? Might give him some needed discipline and something to be a part of other than the street.

I don't know that this is "lashing out". This looks like a behavior of grab the goods and run. A for profit thing. And so far, it's worked out well for him. Grab the goods, drive the getaway car, and you'll be back with mom shortly. I don't see any extreme violence here - he's stealing, and driving away with the merch. So far he's not kicking people in the head or stabbing anyone.
At this point it seems an absolute travesty that he's been returned to his ineffective mother to victimize the public again, completely unsupervised.
