No, it wouldn't be.

Well, then, the Protestant majority in the US could have continued to greatly limit Catholic immigrants, too. Would you consider that acceptable?

And before you say, "oh, that's different, because Catholics are Christians," lots of Protestants didn't see it that way. And Catholicism did teach at one time (and still might, idk), that it's the one and only true religion, and that everyone else is heretics.

We are a diverse democracy, and we've always lived with people different from us who hold ideas we don't agree with. I don't see (selective) Muslim immigrants any differently than previous generations of immigrants.

It's sustainable for at least a hundred years. This is still a pretty much a big empty country once you get out of a few major cities.

And both in population and economy, your either growing or shrinking, and shrinking is never good.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., told Jews at an event Tuesday night "I don’t hate you, I absolutely love you," while warning that anti-Semitism is a bipartisan issue. The progressive "Squad " member connected anti-Semitism to her experience with anti-Muslim sentiment.

Tlaib was speaking at a Jewish Voice for Peace event ..... entitled "Dismantling Anti-Semitism, Winning Justice."

"If anybody comes through my doors or through any form to try to push anti-Semitism forward, you will hear me being very loud with my bullhorn to tell them to get the hell out," Tlaib said in agreement.

I don't know how many times it needs to be said. One can oppose the government of Israel without being anti-semitic, just as one can oppose the government of Syria or Iran without being anti-Muslim.
Let's hear from some BDS supporters.

Quote:
BDS represents three words that will help bring about the defeat of Zionist Israel and victory for Palestine.†–Ronnie Kasrils
Quote:
"Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No Palestinian, rational Palestinian, not a sell out Palestinian, would ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.†–Omar Barghouti, (May 26, 2014)
Quote:
“The real aim of BDS is to bring down the state of Israel….That should be stated as an unambiguous goal. There should not be any equivocation on the subject. Justice and freedom for the Palestinians are incompatible with the existence of the state of Israel.†–As’ad AbuKhalil
Quote:
“I think the BDS movement will gain strength from forthrightly explaining why Israel has no right to exist.â€
–John Spritzler, Pro-BDS Author
Quote:
“We can build a still-stronger BDS movement beginning in the name of Palestinian freedom and ending in a permanent blow against American empire.â€
–Bill Mullen

Here are a couple examples of Tlaib's "love."
Quote:
"Rashida Tlaib RT's [retweets] out the same message that got Marc Lamont Hill canned from CNN," tweeted the account for StopAntiSemitism.org.
"From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free - code for eradicating the State of Israel and its millions of Jews. Reminder - this is a sitting U.S. Congresswoman."

Quote:
Freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib has been condemned after hosting a private celebratory dinner on Saturday featuring anti-Israel activists who praised terror group Hezbollah and Palestinian terrorists, said Israel has no right to exist and called for Israeli “Zionist terrorist†Jews to return to Europe.

Then there's this.
Quote:
During the Gaza War in 2012, Omar tweeted, "Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel."
Quote:
Until later in February, when she tweeted that pro-Israel politicians were being paid off, saying, "It's all about the Benjamins, baby," and adding the pro-Israel lobbying group AIPAC was responsible
Quote:
Until last week, when she said at Busboys and Poets, a restaurant whose owner has said the United States takes its "marching orders from Tel Aviv," that she suspected her "Jewish colleagues" found her criticism of Israel to be anti-Semitic because she is a Muslim. She also said, "I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is OK to push for allegiance to a foreign country."

Nope. Not a hint of anti-semitism anywhere.

We have very little immigration from Muslim countries compared to many others, and it's not only Muslims who are appalled by the apartheid-like conditions Palestinians are forced to live under.

The woman who was equally involved, and who wasn't fully vetted, was not born in the US.

It's funny and I predicted this (just search for it if you doubt my oracle nature) that islamophobia would make a resurgence once Trump was out of office. That's all we seem to do in America it's just talking circles and in cycles. I guess we've already said as much can be said for the civil Rights issues that we have been talking about since the 1960s. Perhaps the ratings are starting to dip and the media needs to find something else to come up with that will outrage us once more. I find it hardly a coincidence of the timing of all of this. Sit in a boardroom there are people making decisions who are very influential in media and in government. And once again the right wingers play right into it. Whether you're left wing or right wing you are getting played.
