Indeed, the UN air forces eventually ran out of viable military targets in North Korea, since the countryside was mainly rural and contained little industry and only a few power plants , dams, bridges, ports, along

The half-hearted strategic bombing campaign by USAF B-29's was cancelled in 1951 , mainly due to unacceptable losses from Chinese based MIG-15's.
I would like to see some hard statistics on North Korea being more prosperous than South Korea until 1975; sounds quite dubious to me. If the infrastructure of the country was largely destroyed by 1953, how did they accomplish such a feat?
UN forces reached the Yalu River, the border between North Korea and Manchuria, in late 1950, but the intervention of the Chinese PLA saw the UN forces retreating quickly. There was no chance of invading China.
Koreans wanted a unified nation. The north had unified it with few casualties until MacArthur decided to blow up the situation.
If China never became communist the US would never have done anything.
North Korea developed because of overwhelming soviet and Chinese support.
South Korea eclipsed them after the Vietnam war because of US military spending. North Korea had movie theaters, cars, etc.
South Korea was just a bunch of peasant farmers. North Korea only became bad in the 1990s with the fall of the USSR and China's economic reforms.

And if it wasn't for Churchill if the Greeks weren't speaking German by the end of the conflict then they most certainly would have been speaking Russian!
