A ceasefire has been agreed to between Israel and Hamas, based on Egyptian mediation. It is supposed to go into effect tonight, but the exact hour is not agreed, and there have just been reports of both sides launching missiles in the apparent waning moments of this conflict.
Israeli ceasefire statement in full - Here is the full statement from the Israeli security cabinet confirming the ceasefire decision:
"The Security Cabinet convened tonight. The Political Security Cabinet unanimously accepted the recommendation of all security officials, the chief of staff, the head of the Shin Bet [internal security agency], the head of the Mossad [foreign intelligence] and the head of the National Security Council, to accept the Egyptian initiative for a bilateral unconditional ceasefire, which will take effect at a later date. The chief of staff, the military echelon and the head of the GSS reviewed before the ministers Israel's great achievements in the campaign, some of which were unprecedented. The political echelon emphasizes that the reality on the ground will determine the continuation of the campaign."
Hamas only agreed because Israel is cleaning their clock.....royally
For 11 straight days, this has been going on. Gaza is not that big of a place. It appears that the Israelis have gotten done most of what they set out to do. If Hamas starts up again, that will be like a written invitation to the Israelis to launch another round of reciprocal attacks back at them.

and...of course....the "media" is counting dead children > Hamas uses them for shields
counting how many rockets Israel is lobbing at them...
...while at the same time....totally ignoring the 100's of rockets Hamas is lobbing at Israel every day...and don't give one flying damn where they land or who they kill
If it wasn't for Israel's Iron Dome....the causalities in Israel would make the ones in Gaza look like a picnic
...it's not Israel's fault that Hamas is just not good at it
I’m concerned that the Islamic terrorists want a halt only because they are running low on missiles, and they are buying time until Iran replenishes them.

Why is Israel so militarily dominant? Is someone giving them weapons?
