So basically he's terrified they are going to turn on him, with his mounting legal troubles. High ego people like Trump get angry and 'rage' when they get scared. I've seen it often.
He’s not wrong, he won the Republican primary in 2016 because a strong contingent of republicans were sick of “compassionate conservatives” that refused to fight for the policy promises that got them elected when there was even the slightest degree of media pushback.
Trump is obviously good at getting his message across and while shady he did run a good campaign in 16. That being said I think Trump really benefited from going against so many similar candidates. There is obviously differences between Cruz, Rubio, Carson, Kasich, Jeb and whoever else I am forgetting but at the end of the day they were all pretty much running on a mainstream republican platform. Which essentially meant they were stealing votes from each other while they were all in the race. Had they all rallied around Cruz earlier on in the primary I think Cruz would have won the nomination.
I think potentially you could see the reverse happen in 2024. If DeSantis, Hawley, Cruz and maybe a few others like DTjr all run on the MAGA platform they might end up splintering the vote enough to get a more mainstream candidate the nomination. At least that is my hope.

No way. Genuine patriots are smarter and nobler than that. They wouldn't ever follow such a person.
