Your OP deserves nothing better, nothing whatsoever. Your act of mis-representing the protest is, in itself, an act of treason, or on the fringes thereof.

Carrying Confederate Battle Flags. And participated in long awaited group poop to celebrate their victory. Hate to been the janitors cleaning up that.

And if that new count didn’t bear fruit? Then what? Take their ball and go home?

Actively seeking out Pelosi and Pence to kill them also doesn’t jive with any “administrative demands only” protest.

They wanted and attempted a coup.

What if they had merely captured Pelosi or Pence or any other “traitor” for that matter? Do you think some of the folks cheering them on at home (and on this board) would have been emboldened to act on their own?

You do realize that the whole reason why the 1992 L.A. riots really spun out of control is because police didn’t act to control small/relatively benign (by full-blown riot standards) acts for hours before the bad apples milling around realized they had carte blanche to go hog wild?

That’s what could have happened here. Had “progress” been made (ie a capture or killing of a Trump “enemy”) that in itself could have put this thing on a different track.

There were issues with the 2020 election. If you don't think there were, you haven't looked into it. The QAnon types believed there was fraud, and that the democrats, the deep state, the establishment, whatever you want to call it, was covering it up and staging a de-facto coup.

That's why they were there on January 6th. And what they were asking for was to wait till more investigations were done, or the Supreme Court made a ruling, or the states revoted, before Biden was certified as president.

Those are the facts.

How many people were actually trying to kill Nancy Pelosi and Mike Pence? The majority? A few people who were recorded and ended up on youtube and msnbc? It reminds me of all those videos where some Republican goes into a crowd of leftists, finds the absolute biggest idiots, and puts them forth like they're representative of all leftists.

Do you actually believe they would have hung Mike Pence? Or were they just saying things like "Mike Pence should be hung for treason"(they considered him a traitor). You know, there are lefties who say Trump and Bush and who ****ing knows who is a traitor. I listened to lefties claim Trump committed treason for four straight years. And what is the penalty for treason?

Trump told them to march to the capitol to put pressure on Mike Pence to "do the right thing". That's why they went to the capitol. That's why they were trying to get inside. And 99% of them didn't think they were attempting a coup. They believed they were stopping a coup. Just listen to the audio recordings of them talking to the capitol police. They believed they were the patriots.

Whether that is true, or delusional, is a separate issue.

DOJ Releases Graphic New Video While Republicans Try to Gaslight America About the Insurrection

While many Republicans continue to try to minimize the severity and breadth of the January 6 attack on the Capitol, the Justice Department released graphic new police bodycam video footage that proves once again just how violent Trump’s mob was.

According to CNN, the DOJ released new footage of the insurrection in response to media requests. Portions of the videos were used by prosecutors against those accused of participating in the Capitol attack.

One portion of the video used by prosecutors in the case against Thomas Webster, a former Marine and retired New York City police officer, shows Trump’s mob and Webster pushing, cursing, and threatening Capitol Police officers. Webster, while wielding a flagpole, can be seen taunting and then rushing one officer as he’s thrown to the ground. Webster has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

In the first video, why did the cops walk through the barrier they had up and then go into the crowd? The cops across the country certainly didn't do that during the riots. At that point all the guy had done was shove the barrier, which the cops had quickly put back into position. There was absolutely no reason for the cops to enter the crowd unless it was to stir up trouble.

The second video showed a very short slap fest between a cop and the guy the cop had shoved.

Not even the cops across the country did those things during the riots. Seems the cops across the country are better trained than the Capitol cops, or, the Capitol cops may have been ordered to stir the pot...much like they'd seemed to have done when they had fired on the peaceful protesters.

There are two scenarios where this illegitimate leftist regime can be toppled. One is a military coup. The other is a state led secession. IMO option 2 is the best one. Let’s have a peaceful separation....kind of like a divorce after years of a bad marriage. Let’s just say irreconcilable differences exist. You folks go start your Venezuela of North America and we will live in a free capitalist America. Peaceful separation is best for all at this point.
Yep, I think you're right, and I think a military coup is feared by the Biden administration. This is from AG Merrick Garland's speech three days ago,https://www.rev.com/blog/transcripts...ech-transcript my italics and bold:

"The Department of Homeland Security is also focused on community-based violence prevention programs in order to empower and revamp support to community partners who can help to prevent individuals from ever reaching the point of committing a terrorist attack. The Department of Defense will train service members on the potential targeting of current and former military members by violent extremists in order to help prevent radicalization." [END EXCERPT]

[quote=Redshadowz;61091295]It's a bit of a grey area because the people involved believed they represented the legitimate government, and that the democrats had basically carried out a defacto coup. They weren't trying to overthrow the government, but rather to keep the government(Trump).

Thank you. You actually taught me something. I never looked at it that way.
Makes perfect sense. I completely agree.

Am I remembering incorrectly or was it not Republicans calling to reopen the schools as soon as possible? I seem to remember Trump saying "open the schools."

Covid was the chance to end public school as a concept. Could have closed down every single one. For good. You failed. Turns out most people want school.
