None of those were communist countries. And they never claimed to be. They did call themselves socialist, although most people today call it state-capitalism.
No, everyone is not getting a free ride. Many mega-rich are paying nothing, and people with kids are getting monthly checks. The ones who are paying for all this are single and childless couples earning middle-income salaries.
I don’t favor an entirely flat tax, since 15% off the top for someone making $500,000 wouldn’t impact his ability to support oneself, whereas it will for someone squeaking by on $30,000 (and no children). Still think we should have a graduated rate, but EVERYBODY should pay in something. Right now we have half of all Americans paying nothing, and with the newly expanded welfare, a substantial amount taking out.
Taking a larger percentage of income for low wage earners is exactly what's happening now in local taxes. Low income workers pay a larger portion of their income in sales taxes and user fees. My state and county also give huge tax abatements to businesses. So the around 50% of school funding falls on residential owners.

Many people on the left already think like a communist who have eaten the propaganda and don't even know they think like a communist . If one thinks like a communist , they are a communist indoctrinated by propaganda and they have no idea that their belief system supports Communism. This is how they take the minds over . We have never been able to outright own our property. There have been property taxes for decades. If you get behind in your taxes, you lose your property. Even had this back in the olden day. This is nothing new. How is getting kicked out if you don't pay your rent communism?

They believe in states rights. Very hard to take over 50 states to become in agreement with big government takeover. The Federal government loves the power and this is how dictators are made. Not though states rights but through the Federal government infringing on states rights dictating to them such as Biden opening borders while the states have to deal with it . Biden stepping on states rights as he closed down a pipe line destroying jobs of the people in those states. Biden is a dictator already .
Trump gave the power to the states and cut regulation, cut taxes, and wanted to put all states people to work. Trump was for America first , not other countries such as Biden giving the OK on Russia's pipeline just after they take down ours.. Biden is the destroyer of American jobs, and the economy.
We full well know we can't have electric cars with a weak power grid. Oil has been the life line to our economy making products and moving products and moving people to their jobs, to there shopping places , to their every day activities that makes life better .
