Interesting……another example of democrats convoluted logic

St. Louis' murder rate, already highest in US, soared last year; mayor vows to defund the police

In St. Louis, Mo., the worst-in-country murder rate is at a 50-year high, the police department has nearly 100 unfilled jobs, and the mayor wants to defund the department and shut down a city jail.

I hope they do it. Let social workers whip those thugs into shape.

"Captain, there are huge holes in the side of the ship, water is pouring in, and we are sinking fast!"

"Ok, then, drill some holes in the side so the water can drain back out."

This, right there, is the "logic" of defunding the police when crime is skyrocketing.

Large majorities of city residents DON'T want the police reduced. They want to maintain or even increase police presence and law enforcement activities.

This is as true for black Americans as for any other race.

Why are various mayors, city councils etc. trying to pretend their constituents want less police? And/or the police defunded? Almost nobody seems to agree with this, except the media and a few politicians... and the rioters of course.

The solution is to not report the murders. It worked for Cuomo with the nursing homes.

I'd be surprised that defund the police reverses crime trends.

Perhaps we should just make murder "not illegal any more"? Maybe just refer to murders as "undocumented euthanasias". Or just "long-term post-partum abortions"?

Poof, the crime rate in St. Louis, MO will be materially reduced.

You may have something here.

I love it. I say it loud and clear. I love this! Liberals voted for this garbage. You wanted it. Don't complain when you get exactly what you voted for. These politicians care more about thugs and criminals then they do their own law abiding citizens. Liberals enjoy it!!!The voters have spoken now they must be punished!!

They don't.

They just announce that the hugely-rising crime rates need MORE liberal programs to stop them.

With fewer cops they will have fewer cop cars for people to dance on the roofs of.
