You: Religious belief should not be the basis for political action.
You: No one is saying an individual can or can't do something because they are Christian.
Perhaps you should finish having this debate with yourself before commenting further.
No one is preventing an individual from taking an action in their private life because they are Christian. Politicians represent the public. That is a different story.
...any woman has the right to use facilities that require them to undress, such as doctor's examination rooms, showering rooms, or latrines, and refuse the presence of biological males (if somehow you don't know, that means in possession of the biological appendage called a Penis)...
And No.
No!
NO!!!
If you possess a penis, you are a NOT a woman, no matter how much you "believe" you are, or how much support you have from the Propoganda Control Arm of the Socialist Democratic Party, normally called the "Mainstream Media".
Have women not fought hard enough for our own space in the world? Why does current culture dictate that we share it all now with trans women? You don’t have to hate trans people to want and need comfortable private women-only spaces. People should stop telling cis women that trans women are the same as us. They aren’t. You can respect trans women and still feel the need for space with other biological females. Nobody has the right to demand we give up our space or castigate us for demanding it. We worked too hard for it.
Absol-freaking-lutely! I’m damn tired of people acting like our position is the radical one. This is just common sense.
What man would go through years of therapy and hormone treatment just to be able to enter a woman's bathroom?
It seems obvious that women should be able to use a woman's restroom.
Your don't have to do any of those things to be a Transgender? You don't even have to dress like a woman. There are no set rules to be Transgender? You could a pre-op, a post-op, on hormone therapy, not on hormone therapy, or even a no-op.
People are born every day with a condition called congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Look it up. They are often born with a combination of genitalia. There are other known conditions as well. Some others are simply born with a deep profound sense that they are not in the right body. They feel it to their core.
We should all at minimum know that these gender issues exist, and can’t all be attributed to insanity.
And sure ... there are others who are seekers - people who spend their lives trying to find themselves. Some others are probably quite mentally ill. Transgender people may or may not suffer from mental illness, however. I think it’s crucial to have an open mind that allows for that which you might not expect. We still have much to learn.
What about Christians who want to live out their faith as they see it, and want to establish institutions to teach their faith to others, and who want to establish rules for that institution that are honoring to the faith that they profess, as they understand it? Why are their rights to be denied in favor of someone who is so confused that they don't even know what gender they really are, and who could easily choose to attend an institution whose views on such matters are more in line with their own thinking?
I'm amused that you think you know me well enough to emphatically state that I am "so confused I don't know what gender I really am". You don't know a damn thing about me. You really don't. Nothing.
"Living out their faith" you mean love, mercy, compassion, grace...ya know, that stuff Jesus preached about?

Predatory men will go through years of study to become priests, teachers, social workers, doctors, police etc. in order to access victims. You think they won't go through the extreme effort of perhaps putting on some more feminine clothing or make up or just simply saying they identify as a woman in order to access victims?
Do you not think women should be entitled to some spaces without male bodies in? Considering how many women have already been victims of male violence in their lives, which will result in some being traumatised if they come across someone male in a space they believe to be female-only. Do those women not matter to you? Should they be excluded from public life so that some males can use female spaces? How about Muslim women who cannot use toilets and showers if males might be there? Should they be excluded from society too? That's not very inclusive.

Or, I could just claim to identify as a woman so that I can shower with young women.
