Basically gain of function is playing Dr Frankenstein and slicing and dicing viruses from different species to create new viruses that attack human cells. They do that in hopes of finding cures.
Now there would be no need to find a cure if you hadn't created that new virus.....

2. It’s the most “shutting the barn door after the horse bolted” legislation I’ve ever seen and it will probably be worked around if people at the NIH and NIAD are ambitious enough. That slug Fauci won’t be around for future research but no matter. The next government goon will step up.

Pretty sad that Rand had to uncover this, fight for the truth, bring it to the attention of the American people, and get politicians to ban the Facui led organization for funding it.
