Well, this is surprising to nobody who has been paying attention for the past year, as long as they haven't been paying attention to the paid liars in the MSM and the Democrat Party.

As more and more ACTUAL science comes out along with the data we ALREADY know, those of us who knew all along that the COVID-19 response was purely political are being proven correct.

The overreaction was simply a means for the Democrats to change voting rules, mail out millions of ballots, and blame Trump for the pandemic. Unfortunately their plan succeeded at a cost of destroying millions of American lives. They got away with it.
We had 3 real life studies going in parallel, to tyranny.
S. Dakota, Florida and then Texas.....

Made liars out of the intellectuals.

Now there is a shock.

Well... it's a shock to anyone who doesn't "follow the science." In actuality, common sense would have told anyone this. Unfortunately, there is very little common sense these days.

I'm surprised that the University of Louisville isn't already a smouldering heap of ashes.

Let's use their logic, with your example.

If NYC had seatbelt laws, and Kansas did not, and we saw no difference in deaths in autoaccidents between Kansas and NYC when adjusting for car accidents, we'd conclude seat belt laws don't work.

FYI, seatbelt laws are unenforceable. I never wear mine. Never got a ticket for it either. Most people who wear seatbelts do it out of perceived self interest.

Going back to their study, they showed that mask mandates did not impact the growth of infections in medium-high transmission environments, but had some impact in low transmission environments.
Never ending nonsense.

Masks were simply a tool for the liberals to mark people as 'compliant ally' or 'evil individual' -- "Us" and "the outcasts" like the Star-bellied Sneetches in Dr. Suess. And smug liberals cancelled Dr. Suess too. Too bad that many liberals don't seem to value education like they claimed they do. One can learn a great deal from Dr. Suess, To Kill a Mockingbird, '1984' and other classics.

This is correct.

Even Fauci clearly stated the truth on masks early on. Once politicians understood the PR aspect of masking and the placebo affects they offered, they shut him up quickly! He realized what a celebrity he could be if he jumped on the mask bandwagon.

Here's why: In the Middle Ground of REALITY - COVID spread was almost never like a wildfire. A typical day (pre-vaccine) showed that just 1% or fewer of regular citizens were contagious at nearly any time (simultaneously) - and also that many of them had symptoms and stayed home.

Ya know who didn't? People who had symptoms - didn't care - and didn't care about masks or mandates either. Nearly ALL of the spread - I mean, just about all - can be traced to people who did NOTHING to prevent spreading it. (I'm excluding health care workers here, and some other cases where it's out of their hands.)

In a room with 1000 people...maybe 10 were contagious. Of that 10, 7 or 8 or 9 are wearing masks. One guy hates masks, and gave COVID to 10 people.

This data will not appear in that study. It has the advantage, though, of rhyming well with all the other math and data. There is no way - none at all - that you can prove masks do nothing, because they clearly block my hot breath from traveling, and whatever the small effect - it ain't zero.
So many lies and untruths in this post. As you well know the CDC itself documented that 80% of those who contracted COVID19 reported that the always wore a useless cloth mask.

So there is no doubt in you mind that if the government had done nothing in response to the pandemic and let individuals and businesses choose to handle it, if they wanted to do anything at all, the number of deaths from COVID-19 would have been the same, around 600,000?

Then just why the hell did conservative Republicans governors lock down part of their states a year ago to "non-essential businesses" and some required masks? If it wasn't Republican governors requiring masks, then it was Republican mayors doing it.

Selective amnesia.

Don’t tell anyone but I used my Google machine and found the websites run by each state and it shows all the executive orders made including heroes Abbott and DeSantis.
