And again for all you folks who cannot comprehend what the liberals are talking about....

The best example of this in play is the Eugene Oregon implementation from many years ago. They moved 10% of police funds into it, and have had a MASSIVE reduction in policing costs.

Oh and for your nonsense? Unarmed folks are not going to be replying to domestic violence calls. Thats the point of it. Police respond to calls where they are most effective, and the social workers respond to the ones where they are the most appropriate.

Depends what state you are in, several states have actually touted the idea around of having social workers be first responders to DV calls, one of the most dangerous calls. It's not about Police cost, it's about punishing the Police for the actions of a few. Let's call a spade a spade.

Then folks need to have a problem with those specific places. The base idea WORKS.

Some times ideas work on paper, but in the real world, they don't. The reality of it is that social workers augment domestic violence victims after the scene is secured. There is no place for them to be first on scene for a number of reasons. Watch the video, this is common.

Police don’t respond to DV unless someone CALLS them. There is no roving DV police “patrol” driving around the city looking for DV to intervene.

But if someone calls police to respond to DV, then it must be urgent and about to get ugly.

Why would you want to send unarmed social workers to urgent call for DV?
