I have my own concerns about the 1619 project. But, I don't think we should forbid all teaching or discussion of it. The 1619 project could be debated in upper level courses with a countering narrative theory, much like like the communist maefesto is often contrasted with Adam Smith economic theories. I think students should be able to make up their own mind on the wisdom or veracity of these theories.

I didn't say "forbid all taching" at all. My caveat would be to expose the ideology of the creators of CRT and even the 1619 project. No reason to hide that they are almost all Marxist or have Marxist leanings, very much like the Stalins, Maos, Castros, Chavez, or Ortegas of the world. Marxists and Leftist in general aren't really big on teaching as much as Indoctrination.

CRT is not a curriculum in schools. If it was then why didn't parents have a problem with this long ago. But now all of sudden they are listening to people telling them this is taught and are outraged.

It is because the right is anti-education. They base this on unfounded fears and lies. They fear that children are being "woke" due to education. They fear that they will be sexual because we have sexual education in school. They think that we are teaching children to believe white males are bad. We aren't. The problem is there are many who have been throughout history whether outrightly racist or not.

I actually explained in a certain lens that all presidents did things that were considered unconstitutional by the other side and critics. This came up with talk about Thomas Jefferson's Louisiana Purchase and the belief it was unconstitutional to buy land. Jefferson used Article 2 Section 2 for that. The fact is we can look at all presidents we have and realize their faults. The issue we see is with the media, it is more known and blasted out there consistently.

Nah, it’s because folks aren’t interested in CRT nonsense being taught, but it’s interesting how you think only the right feels this way.

Except it is and why folks get mad that laws against it are being made. Perfect example of folks being angry that there’s laws being made against it.

From the above dailymail link provided:

> While the bill's author Senator Michael McLendon (pictured) conceded on the senate floor that he had not heard of any schools teaching Critical Race Theory, a number of his constituents had raised concerns about the curricula being taught across the country based on what they heard 'on the national news'

That’s just one of many articles, but it shows what dullards they are, and also shows how easily folks get offended by laws that keep if from being taught. Good thing they’re in politics as it’s unlikely they’d be able to make a living anyway else.

I am yet to hear the let's views on CRT. It is really just the conservatives complaining about it. If liberals are complaining about education, it is for stupid crap like their babysitters canceling on them due to COVID-19 and/or going online. The online is now palatable. I just don't like that parents are getting potentially another way to lie about their student's teacher to get them in trouble because they don't like the teacher.

Don’t know what the let’s are, but this is based on pure assumption, as it’s obvious the right aren’t the only ones interested in it not being taught…and these assumptions are seriously disturbing. Scary to see who’s educating children these days. Yikes.
