It’s part of the process. IN RED- STATE (not blue) UTAH.

You provide the DMV with your signature when applying for a driver’s license. That signature is in a data base. Your signature on your ballot is compared with software.
Some people have no clue how the process works and they have no desire to find out. Bet most states have birth certificate, Social, photo and fingerprints just like mine does. The nit wits must not think the drivers license computers can talk to the secretary of state's thus the county voter roll computers. SMH

Ballotpedia informs me NC requires an ID since 2013. If you have no need to show one, that's your precinct. Maybe they recognize you.
