She didn’t want to talk to the press, she was told she’d get fined. She said she’d pay the fines and was told oh actually you’ll be disqualified. So she said okay I’ll withdraw.
So again - why are people still mad at her?
Because she has the clout and stature to tell the establishment to go pound sand. And that seems to bother a lot of people.
Maybe her having to speak to the press fear stems from being booed when she beat Williams . She did everything an athlete was supposed to do, won, and got booed for it.
She was born in Japan and wanted to represent Japan in the Olympics. Japan does not permit dual citizenship, so she made a choice.
And it was her 22nd birthday, not her 20th. .
Again, she grew up in the US. She moved here at 3 years old unless you think she has such vivid memories of her first 3 years of her life. Sure.
She crapped on the country that trained her to be a tennis brat.
Oh when I said "grew up", that is more that she is growing up here still. She has one heck of a lot to learn, but she is really a kid still at her young sheltered age. Just another silver spoon type.

Williams was sure an embarrassment at that tournament, but she got away with being such a spoiled rotten person.
Glad she got crushed at the French in straight sets. She needs to go away. Great tennis player, but horrible in the class department.
She just lost to a 18 year old, started throwing multiple fits during the match, and now claims she wants to take an extended break from tennis.
Quote:
NEW YORK — Naomi Osaka, the reigning U.S. Open women’s champion and the world No. 3, doesn’t know when she’ll play her next tennis match.
Towards the end of a press conference on Friday night, after losing to 18-year-old, unseeded Canadian Leylah Fernandez in the third round, 7-5, 6-7 (2), 4-6, she shed tears while trying to articulate how she processes winning, losing, and this particular third-round loss. She ended the press conference by saying that she thinks she’ll take a break from playing “for a while.”
I guess being woke and bashing America is finally catching up with her. Time to retreat back to her LA mansion near white people to keep her safe.
