I haven't written a check out to anyone of these board members or teachers. Nor do I send out a W2 to them each year. So nope they do NOT work for me, nor her. They work for an institution that is partly funded by taxes and partly funded thru federal aide.

This lady is irrational and misguided in her understandings. But hey- to each their own on this lovely planet of nutz and fruitcakes .

I pay tens of thousands of dollars in taxes that go directly to my school district to fund them and the board. So YES, they do work for me and are accountable to all tax payers that fund them.

Try some reality.

Is the board funded? It’s all volunteer around these parts and there are no equipment or uniforms or office space requiring line items in the budget. They go for training for a few days every other year but that’s the only funds they use.

Yes. Why is it that so many people don't realize that anyone who gets a paycheck from any kind of federal, state or local government DOES work for those of us who pay taxes?

I second the

Even if they were elected to the positions and they don't get a paycheck, they are still accountable to those who elected them.

And if they were appointed by someone who does get a local, state or federal paycheck, the ones who appointed them are accountable.

What do you think "federal aide(sic)" is?

And yes, they ABSOLUTELY work for the parents.

"This lady is irrational and misguided in her understandings."

Were you talking about yourself?

Let's be perfectly clear.

EVERY SINGLE FUNCTION OF THE GOVERNMENT HAS A SINGULAR PURPOSE - TO SERVE THE CITIZENS OF THAT JURISDICTION.

That's it. That's the ENTIRE job of EVERY person working for ANY government agency, federal, state or local.

Why do you insist on having a King? Don't you understand our system of government?

Charter schools would be fine if they accepted everyone. But they pick and choose, leaving the most difficult and challenged students in the public school system. Home schooling has its plusses but also its minuses.
Charter schools require students and parents make a commitment to their educational agenda. There is agreement on what that is in advance. The parents are encouraged to ask questions and to be involved in their children's schooling. They are required to be involved in their children's schooling, in fact.

So the school curriculum and agenda are not radically altered without direct buy-in and eager participation by the parents. There is not some sort of completely nefarious agenda and curriculum that is snuck into the school and imposed on their children against the will of the parents, as is being done by the "woke" CRT a-holes. Does that sound strange to you?

Charter schools are typically marketed to underserved and economically disadvantaged communities. They are NOT typically targeted at richer or more privileged communities. Skin color or any of the other Democrat left "identity politics" segregation criteria are not deferred to and racism is not accommodated or allowed, unlike in these CRT infested hellholes, where it is the central focus of indoctrination.

What Charter Schools do is provide an opportunity for kids of all socioeconomic backgrounds, and especially those less fortunate, to get all the education that they can handle. But the key to making that work is the kids and the parents have to be committed. If they are, the Charter Schools as a resource to help make that happen. If they are not, then there are other problems, which are beyond the scope of probably any school to resolve.

Teaching this racist Marxist BS outside of the grievance studies is fairly new but it is growing in popularity and the awful people who push it seek to start indoctrinating children with it as early as elementary school.
